Hey everyone! 2021 has been incredible at CB! I am not taking one moment for granted serving on the mission field here at the world’s greatest camp.
2021
January was a month filled with great people and inspiring ministry as we opened our doors up to some teams again! With Covid protocols constantly shifting in the Bahamas, would February look like January? I can say February ended up being full of ministry opportunities, hard work, and we made sure to make it fun through it all!
In March, I traveled for a few stops to some of our ministry partners in the states. My first stop was to see Chad and Michelle Harper who have been a part of the ministry since the beginning. They serve at Genesis Church in Orlando. Chad is also a CB Board member. Then I went to Tampa for my best friend Zoe Pearce. She came to know Jesus many years ago as a camper and we’ve served many summers together as counselors. I was honored to stand by side as maid of honor on such a special day. After the wedding, I flew to Arizona to see our friends and ministry partners, Steve and Larraine Spears. They had planned some meetings with churches and mission pastors and world-changing people around the US through Zoom. I had an in-person interview with the youth group at Life Pointe in Prescott Valley. Sharing about being called into ministry at a young age and the ministry being done through CB was an honor. I loved all the meetings, sharing the way Camp spreads the Gospel back home. I have lived on an island my entire life, so spending time in the desert was a drastic change of scenery for me!
We’ve shared the month of April with Rod and Lynne Straw and Larraine and Lily Spears. Rod is a CB Board member and uses much of his year to serve camp with his incredible building skills. We’ve been able to host several groups this month as well as having one of our CB Summer Leadership staff serve with us for the past 2 months.
WHAT IS TO COME
Even though we face challenges, so much good comes out of being at CB. As always, connecting with our Campers and Counselors with something as simple as a phone call refreshes me and reminds me of the importance of keeping the big picture of discipleship in view. God continues to prove that I can trust Him in 2021 with every need and every dream in every area of my life. With that, I find my peace and joy!
We are looking at all our viable options for the usual summer of ministry. We are paying close attention to changing protocols in our country and take full advantage of every single concession made for the moving forward of usual ministry involving missions, counselors and campers. The CB team continues to preach the hope-filled message of “Blue Skies Ahead”. We might not know what the future looks like, but through all the calendar changes, God has been faithful. At the last second when we have felt like we had nowhere to go, He has come through with exactly what we’ve prayed for.
Thank you all for your prayers, support, and encouragement in the last month! It does not go unnoticed. If you know God wants you to be involved, you can always click the link in the “Partner with me” section! See ya soon!
