SUMMER 2021
YOU READ THAT RIGHT! God continues to blow me away day by day as the weeks of summer pass. He has provided beyond what I thought was possible. The missions side of CB has been in full effect all of June and July! Some of our favorite people who have been a part of this ministry since the beginning have come back through our doors and also new groups! It has been so refreshing for the whole team and encouraging to us as we continue to do life on the mission field.
OUR CAMP SZN: AN ANSWER TO A LONG-AWAITED PRAYER
CAMP BAHAMAS 2021 IS HAPPENING! *Let that sink in*
AHHHH I can't believe I get to actually write that or even say that sentence.
We were unsure how this summer was going to even be possible. We were facing a lot of uncertainty. Yet again, when it seems like we have tried everything, prayed, and fasted, God comes through. The Bahamian government is requiring people traveling from our capital, Nassau to take an RT PCR test to travel to any family island, this includes Eleuthera. This is where most of our campers and counselors live. Due to this expensive test, it was just not possible to have this cost to go to our campers.
I AM BEYOND THRILLED to say that after 15 months of no camp or being able to see our people. CAMP IS BACK ON! All COVID TESTING AND HEALTH VISAS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED! Tears were shed when we knew our favorite time of the year would be possible. God was working in the midst of all of the sadness, pain, and frustration. We have been prepping and planning this moment ever since our last camping session began in 2019. This is what I call a long-awaited prayer. It is truly a miracle and something to celebrate! It is only because of God that I can write this and the generosity of those who made it possible. Generosity is what has kept this ministry alive and able to press on for the past 23 years. .
We continue to ask God to meet the needs of running Camp, and see so many invest into our campers’ lives by giving their time, talents, and resources. Losing 38 groups because of Covid has obviously affected our usual abilities, but how could we stop believing in God now? Thank you all for your prayers, support, and encouragement in the last month! It does not go unnoticed. I continue pursuing God’s calling in my life because of those who have partnered with the things God is doing in the Bahamas.
