Hey everyone! I can't believe that Fall is already here and I have a hard time believing that this year is more than half way through. 2020 has been so fast yet slow at the same time. Much has taken place since I last wrote to you and I can't wait to tell you all about it!
SUMMER 2020
As we adjusted everything about our usual summer schedule, we poured our heart into the projects, people and ministry available to us. My sister Cierra moved her family, including her newborn baby Iris, to Eleuthera in July. Our team grew in ways we had not planned, so that has been a highlight for sure! God is faithful to give us all we need as we keep serving Him through the ministry of CB!
“WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE BAHAMAS?” PART 3
Who knew there would even be a “Part 3?” If you’ve read my previous blogs this summer, you realize The Bahamas is a very complicated country and has an even more complicated government process. With no clear end to all the lockdowns and restrictions, The Bahamas is finally -slowly but surely- opening up! Eleuthera is just a week into regular social and commercial activity, of course with mask-wearing and social distancing! Even though that might seem small, it is such great news for us!
SUNNY SEPTEMBER
Working since March through all the quarantine and the lockdowns has been a challenge, but one we’ve given our hearts to! After pushing through, it was time for our bodies, minds, and spirits to receive some refreshment. During our short break, we took time to spend together and refresh ourselves as a family and a team. I was able to spend time in the Word and I found myself being able to be still. God spoke to me about areas of my life. He was telling me to focus on Him and I listened. Something I have come to understand deeply is to not take moments for granted. Focus on what matters. Focus on what brings you joy and fulfilment. Focus on what ignites the fire that God has put in you for what you are passionate about. Focus on the good in your life through all of what's happening in today. We are only promised today and I have been and will continue to learn to live everyday to the fullest. He showed me in a new way that my life and my calling is in ministry and being on the mission field. There is something powerful yet peaceful when you know it is from God!
A small door opened up for me to supplement a small part of my mission's income, by taking a few hours of my week to teach preschool to my nephew Atticus. This has been fun and something I have never done before. With Atticus being a 3-year-old, he gets excited about everything we’ve done so far!
FALL FORWARD
Moving forward, we will fix our focus on making Camp Bahamas exactly what God has in store for 2020, 2021 and beyond! We pray domestic travel conditions improve so that we can see some of our campers and counselors in Nassau after so long of being apart. We have an upcoming Camp Counselor wedding scheduled for November, seeing two of our best becoming their very own team! We will connect in the US with some of our ministry partners as well before the new year. We will continue to maintain the 24-acre campsite, a big but rewarding job. We will continue discipling our campers and counselors, encouraging them to pursue a relationship with Jesus every single day. We will do everything we can to continue providing a cross-cultural missions experience for all our 2021 Mission Teams. We will plan the Summer 2021 Camping season for our Bahamian campers. The best is STILL yet to come!
Thank you all for your prayers, support, and encouragement! If you feel the calling to support me financially on my journey, the link to is on my main page in the “Partner with me” section!
See ya soon!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
1. The CB Team - Focus for 2020, 2021and beyond.
2. Our Campers and Counselors - They are navigating a brand new way of life.
3. Our Needs - Financially, mentally, and spiritually as we continue to do life on the mission field.
