Nationwide Lockdown

Hello everyone, Alexa here… I think it is a good time for some encouragement.

COVID 19

There has been chaos and many unknowns with what is taking place throughout the world. Life on the mission field has been stressful at times with the changes to our schedules and finances as 17 Mission Teams have had to postpone their trips, most in-definitely. The Bahamian borders have been closed to all incoming passengers.  We currently are on a Stay Home order and there are several times where everything but hospitals are closed for days at a time. With the changes to how Covid 19 is spread throughout the Bahamas, our Prime Minister adjusts further restrictions almost daily. It is very easy to look at the current crisis and be overwhelmed, but God is GOOD and is not leaving any of us alone.

MY WHY

I might not understand why this has happened to the world, but I am taking the time to know my personal “why”.  I am taking this time to better myself as a person, to grow and learn, and to get deep into God's Word and flourish from it. I have had constant worship playing and I refuse to let this time pass and not take advantage of needing peace, understanding and hope. I always love Spring as mission teams fill Camp and bring the entire property back to life,  with it even being more beautiful than it was before. That is the same thing I am praying for in my own heart and life.

CERTAINTY

In doing that, God has been speaking a few things into the depths of my heart, like the word “uncertain”.  He is showing me I can be certain that He is in the midst of the uncertainty, He still is with me and He still is for me.  He is fighting for me. He has been bringing me back to this verse in my time with Him - Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” He is in the past, He is here today and He is in the future. In the uncertainty, things that are important in life become clear. He is our PEACE, He is our COMFORT,  He is our HOPE. I know that is something we can all look to when our futures seem uncertain. My prayer is that, like me, you can give Him the burdens that you are holding onto right now, that can go from things like your family, your friends, your schedule, your financial situation, your health, your schooling, your businesses, or even your next step in life. He isn't going to abandon you or your loved ones at this time. He is a FAITHFUL God. You may not know the outcome, but HE does.

I hope that this has been an encouragement to you. Praying for you all <3 See ya soon! For more insight into my journey at Camp Bahamas, you can head to the main page of my website. You will find a place to subscribe and submit your contact information. I'll include some prayer requests for me and Camp!

1. The CB team will be a strong unified team, full of encouragement and faith as we continue our preparation for Summer 2020.

2. Camp Bahamas will be an encouragement to our campers and our counselors as they have been forced to stay home, do online school, and feel isolated and in need.

3. God will continue to give us peace as He provides for me, the Camp staff, and the ministry.

This is a picture of our last two mission teams that were here a few weeks ago. They were such a blessing!

One of the blessings in my life right now is this view.

My mom shared this about two weeks ago and I couldn't agree with her more.

Here is a few songs that I have been listening to everyday.
